BSB40812 Certificate IV in Frontline Management
"First-line managers work in shorter time frames than more senior managers, typically in weeks or months rather than quarters and years. They are the indispensable link between non-management employees and the rest of management. Because they are the only managers with direct and daily contact with the workforce, their role is unique and one of the most important in any organisation. They are ideally positioned to influence the output, morale, motivation, service levels and cost-effectiveness of the employees they supervise. To many employees, they personify the organisation as a whole. They serve as a focal point for attitudes, values and models of how to behave towards customers, the organisation and the job itself " (Cole, 2010: p. 50).
